來(lái)自拉丁語(yǔ)duodecim，十二，duo，二，decim，十。單詞twelve（十二）以two（二）開頭，同樣，dozen也以“二”開頭。它來(lái)自拉丁語(yǔ)duodecim，其中duo表“二”，decim表“十”。簡(jiǎn)單地說(shuō)，dozen的do為詞根“二”，-zen是“十”的殘余。同根詞如double（兩倍的），其中ble表“翻折”。中文量詞“打”是其音譯。
